***Shanahan and Reynolds are the NEISA Coed Sailors of the Week***

***Klingler and Woods are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week***

The Graham Hall is the largest team race on the College Sailing spring schedule. Showcasing 16 teams, this year’s edition ended with 122 races sailed. The accomplished Race Committee at Navy completed a full 16 team round robin and tie-break sail offs between the second and third finishing teams as well as between the tenth and eleventh finishing teams. The charges brought forth Tuesday are troubling for all of us in College Sailing. Currently available public information indicates that no other Stanford coaches, Stanford athletes, or any other College Sailing programs, were involved.

The Intercollegiate Sailing Association strives to provide fair, affordable, competitive opportunities for undergraduates in a non-scholarship, coeducational, and student-centered environment. College Sailing characterizes the values that most universities hope to provide for all their student-athletes, whether varsity, club or recreational.

The ICSA Executive Committee has removed John Vandemoer from all Standing, and ad hoc Committee positions within the Intercollegiate Sailing Association. At this time, no further action will be taken.  
 

The 2019 Spring Sailing Season is slowly heating up, both figuratively and literally. Light air in MAISA limited racing at the Navy Spring Women’s, the John Jackson and the St. Mary’s Team Race- the three premiere regattas last weekend.

The ICSA team race season is officially upon us. The Bob Bavier Team Race, sailed in Charleston, South Carolina, featured the now two-time defending Laser Performance College Team Race Champions, College of Charleston. However, the Cougars weren’t the headliners of their home event. It was Stanford and Yale that stole the show.

Team racing and women's sailing take center stage with this week's SAISA Sailors of the Week nominations with squads from both SAISA North and South taking on team race competitors from other conferences at the Frank I. Mendelblatt Team Race regatta hosted by Eckerd College, and the Phebe Corkran King Women's regatta at the College of Charleston. In St. Petersburg, the several titans of team racing squared off in close competition. After a challenging start in Round 1, the host Tritons went on a tear in rounds 2 and 3 with wins over crosstown rivals USF, and avenged first round losses against Charleston and SAISA rivals Jacksonville. For their efforts leading the Tritons' surge to within reach of the regatta win, Raz Sayre and Camryn Kennedy earn recognition as this week's SAISA Co-Ed Sailors of the Week. 

In women's sailing, several SAISA teams competed at the Phebe Corkran King Women's regatta at the College of Charleston where cooler temperatures and moderate breeze welcomed sailors at the mouth of the Wando River. With initial racing in the shadow of the USS Yorktown and the latter half of the day on Crab Bank, Charleston's Marian Williams and Elizabeth Mignon earned their first bullet of the day in race three and never looked back from there, leading the division for the remainder of the regatta. Williams and Mignon together delivered four first place finishes on the day while defeating their nearest competitor in B-division, the Stanford Cardinal, by nine points, earning this week's SAISA Women's Sailors of the Week honors.
