Martinez and Reineke Win 2013-14 ICSA/LaserPerformance Singlehanded National Championship

Minneapolis, Minn. (November 10, 2013) – The Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA)/LaserPerformance Men’s and Women’s Singlehanded National Championships, hosted by Brown University and Salve Regina University, wrapped today in Newport, RI. The championships included the top 18 men and 18 women singlehanded sailors in the nation. The event was held out of Sail Newport and sailors competed on windward/leeward courses with four legs on Narragansett Bay.

Marlow Ropes College Sailor Of The Year Announced

(PLYMOUTH, MA) – British manufacturer Marlow Ropes and the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association of North America have announced a partnership through the 2015 college sailing season whereby Marlow will become the Official Rope of College Sailing and will be presenting sponsor of the newly named Marlow Ropes College Sailor of the Year Award. Each spring, this award will recognize the top performer in intercollegiate sailing for the previous fall and spring seasons. The 2013 recipient was College of Charleston’s Juan Maegli.

2013-2014 ICSA/LaserPerformance Singlehanded National Championships Set To Begin

Minneapolis, Minn. (November 7, 2013) – The Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA)/ LaserPerformance Men’s and Women’s Singlehanded National Championships, hosted by Brown University and Salve Regina University are set to begin Friday, November 8th thru Sunday, November 10th in Newport, RI.

Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Names 2013 All-Academic Sailing Teams

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (July 12, 2013) – The Inter-collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) has named its 2013 All-Academic Sailing Team. The 2013 All-Academic Sailing Team recognizes collegiate sailors who have achieved excellence in national and inter-conference competition as well as excelling at the highest academic level for the 2012 – 2013 academic year. The All-Academic Sailing Team was inaugurated in 2006. A nominated sailor must have a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale), junior or senior academic standing and they must be a key starter or reserve on a school’s sailing team.
