Drop Box Media Information

The Nautical Channel has agreed to be an official media provider for College Sailing. The Nautical Channel has 20 million subscribers and is in 40 countries. In the US, it is on the Dish Network. They have agreed to use content that we provide in there weekly NC Sports show. In 2013 NC Sports featured stories on the Singlehanded Championships and the Dinghy Semifinals. All they need from college sailing is the videos. We hope to crowd source content. Danielle Richards has set up an easy way to upload video to a drop box. In addition to the video a short document containing a regatta summary should be included and what the video is of. This is a great chance to engage your Sports Information offices and media services, or just put all of that team race video you are taking to use. Go Pro video can work well. We can also use this mechanism to share files with other media like Chalktalk. Files will be purged after about 2 weeks. Let’s show off college sailing!

Nautical Channel promotes College Sailing with ICSA – USA

Nautical Channel will partner with Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) to bring top college sailing regattas to a US and international audience. ICSA consists of seven regional conferences covering the U.S. and parts of Canada. Sailing is the most co-educational of all college sports, and its best participants number significantly among Olympic medalists, America’s Cup competitors, International Grand Prix Circuit sailors, Volvo Ocean Race sailors, and Bacardi Race Series sailors. These are events in which Nautical Channel stands apart and brings to the world. By using student and professional broadcast media packages, student athletes, coaches, professors, alumni as well as athletic departments are telling their competitive sailing story on Nautical Channel. A “video crowd-sourcing” server is being used allowing sailing colleges to easily upload news stories with footage, photos, and information. Selected content is then aired on the Nautical Channel in over 45 countries and in four languages.
