On Weekend 3 of the Fall 2023 Season, SAISA held Match Race Conference Championships hosted by the College of Charleston where the Cougars secured a hard-fought regatta win over eight conference teams. The Cougars will represent SAISA at the ICSA Match Race National Championships in November. Congratulations to Axel Stordahl (Sr., Gig Harbor, WA), Lucy Klempen (Sr., Kingshill, USVI), Garrett Grenauer (Jr., Buffalo, NY), and Lawson Levine (Sr., Chicago, IL) for earning this week's SAISA Open Sailors of the Week for week 3.

Further south at Eckerd College, the top 12 women's teams in SAISA met to compete at the SAISA Top 12 Women's Invite where NC State Wolfpack sailors Olivia Sowa (Sr., Hollywood, MD) and Shea Hoffacker (Fr., Wilmington, NC) delivered an outstanding performance winning a very competitive A-Division with six first place bullets over 11 races, helping their team to an overall second-place finish. In B-Division, USF Bulls sailors Eden Nykamp (Jr., Holland, MI) and Janie Powell (Jr., Annapolis, MD) dominated a talented field starting the regatta with a picket fence of first place finishes through day one, eight total firsts over the 11-race event, and no finish off the podium over the course of the regatta, helping to propel the USF Bulls to an overall regatta victory. Congratulations to Sowa, Hoffacker, Nykamp, and Powell for earning SAISA Women's Sailors of the Week for week 3.

About the SAISA Sailors of the Week
