NEISA Teams of the Week, Spring 2025, Week 6

Cambridge, MA – 4/6/25 – The Yale Bulldogs are the NEISA Open Team of the Week after claiming the NEISA Open Team Race Championship and successfully defending the Fowle Trophy title they have held each year since 2022. The team of Jack Egan ’25, Elle Sykes ’27, Stephan Baker ’26, and Ashley Highland ’27 was joined by women’s sailors Mia Nicolosi ’25 and Sarah Moeder ‘26 for the first time season. Despite losses to Harvard in the first two rounds, the Bulldogs sailed consistent throughout and managed to force a final race against Harvard for the title after the Crimson faltered in the 3rd round. This win earns Yale an automatic berth to the ICSA Open Team Race Nationals at Brown later this month.

New London, CT – 4/6/25 – The Northeastern Huskies are the NEISA Women’s Team of the Week for their victory at the Emily Wick Trophy at Connecticut College, the first NEISA hosted women’s fleet race interconference of the season. Sailing for Northeastern was skipper Eva Ermlich ’26 with crews Zoe Grant ’25 and Lorelei Duarte ’28 in A-division and skipper Lucia Loosbrock ’25 with crews Lucinda Harley ’27 and Isabella Welch ’25 in B-division. The Huskies, who opted out of women’s team racing for the spring, showed they are still a force to be reckoned with on the fleet-race course and are in strong form heading into the fleet race conference championships in the weeks ahead.
