NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 7, Fall 2019


***Baird and Nicolosi are the NEISA Coed Sailors of the Week***

Annapolis, MD —3/17/19- Nic Baird ’19 and Graceann Nicolosi ’20 are the NEISA Coed Sailors of the Week for leading the Yale Bulldogs to a commanding victory at the Graham Hall Team Race hosted by the Naval Academy.  The duo from Yale led the Bulldogs to a 14-1 record, besting regatta runner-up and defending national champion College of Charleston Cougars.  This is the second major regatta win of the spring season for the Yale team and the Bulldogs are the country’s team to beat in team racing heading into the stretch run.

***Nordstrom, Clulo and Mollerus are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week***

St Mary’s City, MD—3/17/19- Louisa Nordstrom ’20, Kathryn Clulo ‘21 and Catherine Mollerus ’21 are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week after winning A-division at the St Mary’s Spring Women’s Interconference regatta hosted by St Mary’s College.  Nordstrom and Clulo were dominant in Saturday’s strong winds, and jumped out to a comfortable margin in A-division.  As the strong winds diminished, Nordstrom and Mollerus continued on their winning ways collecting a couple of bullets early to push the Bulldogs into the regatta lead over eventual runner-up Harvard University. This is the second straight major regatta win of the spring season for the Yale Women’s team and the Bulldogs are the country’s team to beat in women’s sailing heading into the stretch run.

Around the Conference

Harvard placed an impressive 2ndplace at the St. Mary’s Women’s with Boston College and Boston University rounding out the top 5 with 4thand 5thplace finishes respectively.  Boston College claimed the Southern New England Team race, hosted by Connecticut College, with a 15-2 record. URI claimed victory at the Ike Geiger Trophy regatta, hosted by MIT, with a 12-2 record.  Boston University won the Central Series at Mass Maritime.
