NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 5, Spring 2017

Cambridge, MA—4/2/17-Charles Lalumiere ‘17, Rebecca McElvain ‘19 of Dartmouth College are the NEISA Sailors of the Week. Lalumiere and McElvain helped lead the Big Green to victory at the 36th Lynne Marchiando Trophy Team Race hosted by MIT over the weekend.  Dartmouth finished with a 12-2 record, winning every race in the first Gold round robin, and faltering only in their races against Hobart and Williams Smith and Boston College in the second Gold round. Their consistency in a variety of conditions helped them achieve their best team racing result of the season.

Around the Conference

Many regattas became one-day events because of the wintery weather in the region on Saturday. Roger Williams University won the Camel Team Race at Connecticut College.  Tufts took the top spot at the BU Trophy.  The Coast Guard Academy won the J70 Invite in a tie break over Roger Williams. With a 10-2 record at the Herring Pond Team Race hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy, the Tufts Jumbos out sailed the competition. Boston College won the Central Series hosted by Harvard.

Go NEISA!
