New London, CT – 9/29/24 - Justin Callahan and Kennedy Leehealey ’26 of the Harvard Crimson are the NEISA Open Sailors of the Week. Callahan and Leehealey led their team to victory at the first interconference regatta of the season, the Danmark Trophy, hosted by U.S. Coast Guard Academy on the Thames River. The Harvard juniors won the A division in convincing fashion with only one finish outside of the top five, including consecutive wins in races five and six. Their performance enabled Harvard to prevail over nineteen of the best teams in the country.
New London, CT – 9/29/24 - Harvard sophomores Zoey Ziskind, Christina Chen and Peyton Hadfield ’28 have been named the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week for their performance in the first round of the Atlantic Coast Championship hosted by Connecticut College. The Harvard crew dominated in the B division, winning four of the eleven races sailed. They finished in the top five in all but one race, prevailing through light and variable breeze conditions. Their efforts helped Harvard finish second overall behind Stanford and ahead of Yale, earning their team a berth to the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship Finals at the Naval Academy October 12-13, 2024.
