NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 2, Fall 2024


Providence, RI – 9/15/24 – Harvard University’s Robby Meek ’27 has been named the NEISA Open Sailor of the Week for his convincing win at the Monotype Trophy, the NEISA Open Singlehanded Championship. Despite challenging sailing conditions throughout the weekend, Robby proved himself a notch above a deep and competitive 34-boat fleet. Winning four of the seven races sailed in the event and finishing outside of the top three in only one race, Robby ended the weekend with a total of 18 points: less than half the points of the second-place finisher. Robby’s performance earns him an automatic qualifying berth at the 2024 ICSA Open Singlehanded National Championship to be held November 9-10 in St. Petersburg, FL.  

Providence, RI – 9/15/24 – Brown University’s Katharine Doble ’26 has been named the NEISA Women’s Sailor of the Week for her impressive win at the NEISA Women’s Singlehanded Championship. Katharine won three of the seven races sailed, finishing outside of the top five in only two races. Despite challenging conditions, Katharine remained atop of a very tight battle for the lead, finishing just six points ahead of the 4thplace finisher. Katharine’s performance earns her a berth at the 2024 ICSA Women’s Singlehanded National Championship to be held November 9-10 in St. Petersburg, FL.
