Medford, MA 4/13/26: The Yale Bulldogs are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week for their resounding victory in the Legler Trophy for the NEISA Women’s Team Racing Championship hosted by Tufts. After an incredibly competitive round robin of ten teams, Yale found themselves tied with five other teams all with six wins and three losses. The Bulldogs went on a tear in the hotly contested second round robin of the top eight teams. Their only loss in the round came at the hands of the Tufts Jumbos. In the Final Four they confirmed their superiority by winning all three races. The Yale roster for the event was comprised of Dorothy Mendelblatt ’28, Julia Miller ’26, Carly Keiding ’29, Sarah Moeder ’26, Elle Sykes ’27, Carmen Berg ’27 and Ciara Diaz Suarez ’28. With a final record of 15-4, they finished three wins ahead of second place, Brown and third place, Tufts. Coach Zack Leonard had this to say about his team’s performance, “The team has been coming together steadily and getting tighter each week. We were really excited that the team showed what they are capable of in some very challenging conditions”.
New London, CT 4/13/26: The Harvard Crimson are the NEISA Open Sailors of the week for their performance in the Thompson Trophy Team Race at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy. The Crimson won fourteen races and lost only one in the round robin of sixteen teams. They finished second overall behind Stanford, who also finished with only one loss. Boston College won a three-way tie breaker with Charleston and Brown for third place with ten wins and five losses. The Harvard roster included Justin Callahan ’26, Christina Chen ’27, Aidan Pesce ’26, Mitchell Callahan ’26, Rosella Irfan ’27, Robby Meek ’27, Jacob Posner ’29. Harvard Associate Head Coach, Bern Noack, said of his team’s performance, “The team sailed well in some really nice conditions. We all wished to have some more races against Stanford to overturn the tie-breaker.”.
