Women's Sailors of the Week
The Brown Bears A division team at the Stu Nelson Trophy are your NEISA Women's Sailors of the Week. Laura Hamilton ‘27 and Katherine Majette '27 started the event with 1st and 2nd place finishes and held the lead through remaining light conditions and current on the Thames. Each race in the variable conditions was hard won, and they stayed steady and fast around the track. Hamilton and Majette’s low point A division score, paired with a 1st place finish in B and 6th in C, propelled the Bears to the overall regatta victory!
Open Sailors of the Week
The MIT Engineers A Division team at the Open Atlantic Coast Championships Round 1B are your NEISA Open Sailors of the Week. Robert Ulmer ‘27 and Ellie Pinto ‘27 started slow on Saturday but ended the day with a four-point set that turned their event around. Ulmer and Pinto climbed further on Sunday during tricky, rainy and light conditions, scoring two 1st place finishes out of the four races sailed. They took over the A Division lead in the second to last race of the regatta. Their consistency and focus earned them the A division title and, coupled with a 6th place B division finish, locked MIT in at a 3rd place overall finish!
