Cambridge, MA – 9/10/23 – MIT’s Brooke Schmelz ’25 and Samantha Karlson ’25 are the Women’s NEISA Sailors of the Week after winning A division on their home waters at the Toni Deutsch ’58 Regatta. The duo put together a string of top three finishes that helped secure the divisional win and overall win for the Engineers. Their teammates Brooke Barry ’26 and Mercedes Escandon ’25 were able to sail a great second day winning three of the five races, to help the team finish twenty points ahead of second place.
New Haven, CT – 9/10/23 – Colman Schofield ’25 and Charles Pohl ’26 are the Open NEISA Sailors of the Week following their A-division win at the Harry Anderson Regatta hosted by Yale University. Schofield and Pohl sailed an exceptionally consistent regatta, while they never won a race, they never finished outside of the top six over all nine races sailed. The Coast Guard Academy secured second place, just one point off the leaders.
