New London, CT - 3/20/21 - The Connecticut College Camels hosted the Southern New England Team Race regatta on the Thames river. Thanks to CGA for showing up with a flotilla of extra boats to help run the event. The breeze came in from the south @ 6-12 knts and eventually swung right as the day went on. A full round of 10 races per team were completed. Congrats to Spencer Cartwright ’21, Riley Read ’21, Aidan Hoogland ’24, Rachel Holick ’21, Emily Gildea ’21, and Molly Matthews ’23 from Roger Williams for winning. URI showed up in force and sailed a personal best with their two teams. It was exciting to see how strong in team racing they have become. Thanks to all of the coaches that helped move marks and umpire. Thanks to all of the Camel undergrads that did start boat, finish boat, and scoring while rotating in to sail.

New London, CT – 3/20/21 - The first day of spring brought some awesome conditions on the Thames River. S-SW breeze ranging from 5-14 knots all day that slowly veered to the West for the last race. Conn College, URI and CGA made up the eight boat fleet that sailed a total of seven races. Going into the last race there was a three-way tie with Bears 1, Rams 1 and Bears 2 with CGA Senior Richard O'Leary ’21 and crew of Megan Wadleigh ‘21, Chris Alemania ‘22 and Rachel Pelton ‘23 winning the race and the regatta. Special thanks to the Offshore Bears for running the event and to the Coast Guard Academy community for supporting the ability to host college sailing competitions at Jacobs Rock!
