This past weekend at the Navy Spring Women's Fleet Race, NC State University skipper Isa du Plessis (Jr., Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and crew Annika Milstien (So., Tampa, FL) overcame bitter cold and challenging conditions on the Severn River to win B-Division at the competitive interconference event. With three bullets and five podium finishes across the two-day event, du Plessis and Milstien propelled the Wolfpack to an overall 8th place finish at the cross-regional event hosted by the USNA, and earned this week's SAISA Women's Sailors of the Week honors.
Further south in far more amenable conditions at the Lake Norman (NC) Open Regatta, the College of Charleston squad of Harrison Thomson (Fr., Norfolk, VA), Brylie Schaubach (Fr., Norfolk, VA), Elliot Raison (Fr., Thonon-les-Bains, FR), and Paige Lubrano (Fr., Chatham, NJ) won the regatta in impressive fashion winning both A and B divisions with thirteen first place finishes in sixteen races and no finishes worse than 2nd across the one-day event. With the regatta win, the Cougars squad earns this week's SAISA Open Sailors of the Week honors. Congrats to both groups for outstanding performances representing SAISA!

About the SAISA Sailors of the Week
Each week of the season, we’ll recognize outstanding performances by sailors across SAISA, as well as by SAISA sailors in competition out of conference. The selection process includes a nomination period each week ending on Sunday. A committee of SAISA coaches from both divisions selects sailors from the nominations received and will announce the SAISA Sailors of the Week early each week following the close of the nomination period. If you’d like to submit a nomination, email the sailor’s name, school, position, and what events or circumstances they demonstrated outstanding performance to SAISAsotw@gmail.com. Nominations close on Sunday at midnight EST and selections will be based on performances for the preceding week and that weekend. Selection categories may include open (co-ed) skipper, open crew, women’s skipper, women’s crew. Pairings or individual sailors may be nominated or selected.
