NEISA Sailors of the Week, Spring 2024, Weekend 2

Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association

Georgetown, MD – 3/10/23 – Boston College’s Colleen O’Brien ’24, Michael Kirkman ’25, Peter Joslin ’26, Peter Busch ’26, Matt Budington ’25, Sara Schuman ’25 and Lourdes Gallo ’24 are the NEISA Open Team of the Week following a strong performance at the John Jackson Memorial Team Race hosted by Georgetown University. The Eagles sailed a fantastic event, pulling out some hard fought wins to finish the first round with a 6-1 record, only falling to the home team on Saturday. Sunday brought the breeze as the second round started in a puffy and shifty 12-25. During Race 44, BC was facing ODU when a 48 knot puff came through. Gusts well into the 40s meant racing was called for the day. BC ended in second overall and represented NEISA well.

Annapolis, MD – 3/10/23 – Yale University’s Mia Nicolosi ’25, Emma Cowles ’25, Carmen Cowles ’25, Ximena Escobar ’25, Catherine Cheung ’24, and Carmen Berg ’26 are the NEISA Women’s Team of the Week following their win at the Jen Harris Women’s Team Race hosted by Navy. A similar story to the John Jackson, sailing was ultimately called off on Sunday due to gusts in the high 30s and the second round was not completed. Yale went 10-1 in the first round, only falling to University of Pennsylvania.
