Sailors of the Week, Weekend 5, Fall 2014

***Landy, Belling, and Gaumond are named the NEISA COED SAILORS OF THE WEEK***

New London CT— 10/06/2014 Graham Landy ‘15, Charlotte Belling ’16, and Katherine Gaumond ‘15 from Yale University have been named the NEISA Coed Sailors of the Week after leading their team to victory at the Danmark trophy hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy. The trio won five of the fifteen races over the weekend in very shifty westerly conditions on the Thames River. Landy, Belling, and Gaumond won A-division by eighteen points and led the Bulldogs to victory.

***Reineke named the NEISA WOMEN’S SAILORS OF THE WEEK***

New London CT --10/06/2014-Erika Reineke ‘16 from Boston College has been named the NEISA Women’s Sailor of the Week after her winning performance at the Women’s New England Single-Handed Championship, hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy.  Reineke won 11 of 12 races on her way to winning the Women’s Single Handed Championship for the 3rd straight year. She has earned a berth at the Women’s Single-handed National Championship hosted by Western Washington University.

Congratulations to Dana Rhode ‘18 USCGA, Lindsey Baab ‘18 Brown University, Kelly McGlynn ‘15 Brown University, Liz Dubivik ‘15 Connecticut College, and Rosalind Lesh ‘16 MIT for also Qualifying for the Women’s Single-Handed National Championship. Boston College won the Smith Trophy, Brown won URI invite, Dartmouth won the Olympians, Yale won the Hewitt trophy, Tufts won the Harvard invite, and Bowdoin won the Central series and the Women’s invite.
