JUAN PERDOMO '17 IS THE NEISA COED SAILOR OF THE WEEK
Niantic, CT - 9/27/15 - Harvard University's Juan Perdomo won the 2015 NEISA Men's Singlehanded Championship and is NEISA's Coed Sailor of the Week. Juan took over the lead early in the event, winning race four and going on to finish in the top three in nine of the fourteen races. The victory qualifies Juan for the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships, to be sailed at Old Dominion University in November.
HANNAH POLSTER '17 & MARGARET SWANSON '16 ARE THE NEISA WOMEN'S SAILORS OF THE WEEK
Boston, MA - 9/27/15 - Boston University's Hannah Polster and Margaret Swanson won A-division at the Regis Bowl and are NEISA's Women's Sailors of the Week. Hannah and Margaret won the first race of the event, sailed in shifty conditions at their home venue on the Charles. They sailed a very consistent event, finishing top five in every race and top three in seven of nine races. Their A-division victory helped the Terriers win this year's Regis Bowl overall.
AROUND THE CONFERENCE
Yale's Malcolm Lamphere '18, Nicholas Baird '19, and Joseph Kiss '17 finished second through fourth at NEISA Men's Singlehanded Championships and qualified for the Singlehanded Nationals. Tufts won the Hood Trophy, sailed on their home waters, and the Ross Trophy. BU added victories at the Loder Trophy and Salt Pond Invite to their Regis win. MIT and Bowdoin won last weeks two Midweek regattas. Dartmouth College was NEISA's top finisher at the St. Mary's Fall Interconference regatta, taking fifth overall.
