NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 3, Fall 2016


NEISA Coed Sailor of the Week

New London, CT - 9/25/16 -  Alp Rodopman '17 of the Tufts University Jumbos is the NEISA Coed Sailor of the Week after winning the NEISA Men’s Singlehanded Championship hosted by Connecticut College out of Mitchell Beach.  Rodopman dominated the 23-boat event by finishing in the top three in 10 of the 14 races.  He finished 46 points ahead of second place.

AROUND THE CONFERENCE
Congratulations to Alp Rodopman ’17 of Tufts, Nicholas Baird ’19 of Yale, Malcolm Lamphere ’18 of Yale, and Scott Rasmussen ’20 of Boston College on finishing 1st through 4th at the NEISA Men’s Singlehanded Championship and qualifying for the 2016 ICSA/Laser Performance Men’s Singlehanded National Championship.  Congratulations to Erika Reineke ’17 of Boston College, Lindsey Baab ’18 of Brown, Dana Rohde ’18 of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Isabella Loosbrock ’19 of Boston College, and Louisa Nordstrom ’20 of Yale on finishing 1st through 5th at the NEISA Women’s Singlehanded Championship and qualifying for the 2016 ICSA/Laser Performance Women’s Singlehanded National Championship.  Both events will be held November 5-6 in Galveston Bay, TX.

Host Tufts University won the Hood Trophy on Mystic Lake while the Dartmouth Big Green won the St. Mary’s Interconference Trophy at the St. Mary's College of Maryland.  Tufts also won the Chris Loder Trophy hosted by the University of New Hampshire at MIT and the Richard Ross Trophy at Courageous Sailing Center.   Yale won the 1st annual Amanda Women's Trophy at Roger Williams and Connecticut College won the Salt Pond Invite at URI.
