NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week, Weekend 11, Fall 2017

***Louisa Nordstrom and KB Knapp are the Women’s NEISA Sailor of the Week***

New London, CT – 11/11-12/17-Louisa Nordstrom ’20 and KB Knapp ‘18 of Yale University secured the ICSA Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship hosted by the Connecticut College Camels this past weekend for Yale University.  Nordstrom and Knapp Placed 2nd in B-Division in the eight race series.  The duo only had one race outside the top three.  Going into the final B-Division race and last race of the series, only 3 points separated Yale and Boston College on the very tricky Thames River.  Yale and BC rounded the top mark and leeward gates nose to tail on a course W/3.  Heading up the last beat it was anyone race as the teams crossed each other a few times early in the beat.  Nordstrom and Knapp ended up passing three boats to win the race and the last Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship!

Around the Conference\

Dartmouth College won the Coed ACC’s with NEISA teams claiming 6 of the top 7 spots in a tight regatta at SUNY Maritime College.  Martim Anderson and Rebecca Anderson of Roger Williams College won B-Division. NEISA also claimed 6 of the top 7 spots at the Women’s ACC’s with Coast Guards Dana Rhode and Maddie Ekin winning A-Division and Boston College’s Sophia Reineke, Lily McGrath and Alice Bohan winning B-Division.  Massachusetts Maritime and Salve Regina travelled to Eckerd College and placed 3rd and 4th respectively at the Atlantic Coast Tournament.
