Austin, Texas. (June 9, 2012) – Friday night was the final ICSA awards banquet in Austin, Texas after the last day of racing for the ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship. The Coed and Crew ICSA All-Americans, Everett B. Morris Trophy for the College Sailor of the Year, Robert H. Hobbs Sportsmanship Award and the Leonard M. Fowle Trophy for the Best Overall Team were presented. The names of the winners will be added to the ICSA Hall of Fame display located in the Robert Crown Center at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
Austin, Texas. (June 8, 2012) – Today was the last day of the ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship, the last of three highly anticipated spring college sailing National Championships. The events were co-hosted by the University of Texas Sailing Team and the Austin Yacht Club on Lake Travis. Light and shifty winds made for difficult conditions today, but it did not stop the Hoyas from dominating the regatta. Leading all three days of the event, Georgetown University won the National Title and the Henry A. Morss Memorial Trophy.
Portsmouth, R.I. (February 5, 2012) – US Sailing’s Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC) has chosen two outstanding sailing coaches for the 2012 Coaches of the Year Awards. Based on nominations from the public, the OSC has named Mike Callahan (Washington, D.C.) the National Coach of the Year and Steve Keen (Greenwich, Conn.) the Developmental Coach of the Year. These two winners exhibited extraordinary dedication to the sport of sailing and made an impact on the sailors they coached in 2012.
Austin, Texas (June 5, 2012) – Today was the third and final day ofthe ICSA/APS Team Race National Championship on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. This event is the second of three collegiate sailing nationals co-hosted by the University of Texas Sailing Team and the Austin Yacht Club this spring. After three days of racing excitement the College of Charleston walked away with the Championship title and the Walter C. Wood Trophy.
Austin, Texas (June 2, 2012) – Today was the last day of racing for the Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s National Championship on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, co-hosted by the University of Texas Sailing Team and the Austin Yacht Club. Eighteen women’s collegiate teams raced for the Gerald C. Miller Trophy and Boston College came away with the victory.
Austin, Texas (June 2, 2012) – The Quantum Women’s College Sailor of the Year award and ICSA Women’s All-American Team were announced at the final banquet for the Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s National Championships in Austin, Texas at the Austin Yacht Club.
